# Cowsay Debian Packages

Unofficial, up-to-date `.deb` packages for **cowsay**, built from the latest [cowsay-org](https://github.com/cowsay-org/cowsay) source code.

## ¿Why does this exist?
The official Debian repositories are stuck on version `3.03+dfsg2` (from 2016/2020) and are currently unmaintained. This means missing features, missing cows, and no "actually..." meme cow. 

This repo provides pre-built packages for the latest upstream version so you don't have to compile it yourself.

## Installation

Download the latest `.deb` from the `pool/main/` folder and install it:

```bash
sudo dpkg -i cowsay_3.8.4-1_all.deb
```

*(Optional)* If you want the offensive/classic cows (bong, beavis, etc):
```bash
sudo dpkg -i cowsay-off_3.8.4-1_all.deb
```

## What's new in 3.8.4?
*   **"actually..." cow** (The meme!)
*   **"sus" cow** (Among Us crewmate)
*   Alpaca, Fox, Cupcake, and Llama cows.
*   Numerous bug fixes from upstream.

## Build it yourself
If you don't trust my binaries (good for you!), you can build it using the Debian source packaging provided in the official [cowsay-org repo](https://github.com/cowsay-org/cowsay).
